In 2024, Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation piloted GIVE Melbourne, an online fundraising campaign that was a collaboration with three of our project partners; Infoxchange, Good Cycles and Sweltering Cities – three of the for-purpose organisations that call the Hub their home. It was wonderful to see people rallying for Melbourne and coming together to support communities cope with the increasing effects of climate change, tackle homelessness, and create inclusive employment opportunities in Greater Melbourne. Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation are grateful to our donor community who made 139 donations during the Appeal, and particularly to the 46 new donors who came on board. How the GIVE Melbourne appeal donor contributions helped: LORD MAYOR’S CHARITABLE FOUNDATION The For Purpose Impact Accelerator Hub provides support and co-sharing spaces for organisations to get great ideas off the ground and scale their impact. SWELTERING CITIES Rising heat is a health emergency that impacts some of our most vulnerable community members. Sweltering Cities works directly with communities in our hottest suburbs to campaign and advocate for more liveable, equitable and sustainable cities. They do this so people who live in hot suburbs and homes have the option to stay safe in heatwaves, and for our cities to be transformed to reduce carbon emissions and be safe in our future climate. GOOD CYCLES Good Cycles’ Youth Employment Program uses a work-first approach, offering jobs to people aged 18-29 with real income alongside tailored coaching and support. The ‘learn by doing’ approach is offered with personal choice and an inclusive workplace to deliver technical and transferable skills. Longterm employment alongside support helps build confidence, stability and networks, enabling young people to continue to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. ASK IZZY - INFOXCHANGE The Ask Izzy website bridges the gap between the daily crises countless individuals face every day – such as food insecurity and homelessness – and the help they urgently need.
