Strengthening neighbourhoods

Community Charitable Fund Accounts are a type of sub-fund that perfectly reflects this goal. Community Charitable Fund Accounts provide local communities with an opportunity to encourage philanthropy and direct residents’ collective fundraising towards strengthening the local area through the empowerment of local charities.

The Foundation hosts twelve Community Charitable Fund Accounts, established by local councils. They are advised by a committee of representatives from the local community and may include council staff. Committees enable local expertise to guide where there is the greatest need.

The Foundation holds and invests the donated funds, provides governance and grant making support, while local communities encourage giving from residents, businesses and their staff to help support their community in perpetuity. Donations are raised via community events and communications. All resulting in a positive ecosystem of support.
