While headline unemployment levels remained relatively low, it has been critical to support people facing barriers to work into safe and secure jobs. Our continued support of the Social Enterprise eco-system has contributed to a shift in how social enterprises are being seen as part of the solution by governments. Through the WISE Grant Collaboration, the Foundation joined forces with six other funders to assist Work Integration Social Enterprises grow their capacity to deliver good jobs for people facing disadvantage. Alongside this impactful ‘on the ground’ work, the Foundation has nurtured a portfolio of high impact projects aimed at influencing economic policy choices that prioritise people and communities experiencing cost of living and climate pressures. This work is wide ranging and includes mobilising local grassroots networks seeking local policy change and national movements working towards fair, fast and inclusive climate action.
